Goa is one of the major tourist destinations in India. It is known for its beaches and beautiful churches, port wine, and its rave parties that are rocking during the Christmas-New Year time. The beaches of Goa are so popular that not only the tourists from within India but tourists across the globe want to travel to India to visit these beaches.
Goa's Dabolim airport is not an international airport and therefore there are no direct flights to Goa. However, most of the major cities of India are connected to Goa through air. The cities of Delhi, Mumbai, and Madras are connected internationally. Lot of flights arrives daily into Delhi, Mumbai, and Madras. Then one has to take a flight from there for Goa. The domestic airlines that are operating in Goa are Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, and Sahara Airlines. Couple of few more airlines are in pipeline. Daily flights connect Goa with Delhi, Mumbai, etc. There are two flights per week via Delhi and Bombay. For tourists from foreign country who do not want to take that route there are direct holiday charter flights from the UK (Manchester and Gatwick), Scandinavia, Holland, and Germany. The flying time to reach Goa from Delhi is 3 hours from Mumbai it is just 1 hour, and from an international destination it is approximately 10 to 11 hours. |
