Description
City Palace, Udaipur is built on a raised platform over viewing the serene Lake Pichola. Made up of granite and marble the arches and domes of the palace showcase archetypal European architecture. The marble arches are intricately designed, depicting elephants fighting and other interesting scenes.
The Elephant Gate or the Hati Pol is the main gateway to the City Palace, Udaipur. The Bara Pol or the Great Gate is the entrance to the first courtyard. The Jagdish Temple within the City Palace complex is very popular. Lord Vishu is the deity who is worshipped in this temple.
The miniature paintings of the City Palace, Udaipur are also very popular among tourists.
