Introduction
Surrounded by Aravalli Hills on the three sides, Bundi is enclosed by a huge wall and four gateways. Unlike other tourist places of Rajasthan, Bundi is the least popular. However its architecture and people is a reminder of Rajasthan's glorious past.
History
When Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated by Muhammad Ghauri in 1193, some nobles of his court sought shelter in Mewar and soon became associates with the Rana while the rest moved to the Chambal Valley and established their own kingdom in Hadoti. Eventually the two branches formed two separate kingdoms on either side of the Chambal River, Kota and Bundi.

How to get there
Bundi is well connected with the other parts of the country. It is connected by rail, road and air. The nearest airport is in Jaipur which is 206 kilometers away. Many airlines offer cheap air tickets to Rajasthan. Trains from different parts of the country like Agra and Kota travel to Bikaner. A good network of bus services are available to travel to Bikaner by road that connect it to Kota which is 40 kilometers away and Jaipur which is 206 kilometers away.
