A TRYST WITH HISTORY OF INDIA

DAY 01 : AGRA/GWALIOR

Transfer to the Railway Station to board the Shatabdi Express train for Gwalior. Meeting and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit the historical Gwalior Fort which dominates the city and is its most magnificient monument. Visit Man Mandir Palace, another historical place in India, built by Raja Man Singh in Gwalior. Also visit Sas Bahu Ka Mandir, Suruj Kund, Tansen's Tomb and Sun Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 02 : GWALIOR/JHANSI/KHAJURAHO

Transfer to Railway Station to board the Shatabdi Express train for Jhansi. Meeting and transfer to Khajuraho by car. Afternoon sightseeing tour of this historical place in India visiting the Eastern and Western group of temples. The largest temple is Kandariya Mahadev dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the Western group lies the Chaunsat Yogini temple. Other noteworthy temples are Viswanath, Lakshmana, Varaha and Chitragupta temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 03 : KHAJURAHO/VARANASI

In time transfer to the airport to board flight for Varanasi by IC407. Meeting and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Sarnath, one of the historical places in India, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Evening visit Amrit Rao Peshwa Ghat to witness devotees performing the "Ganga Arti" which culminates in placing tiny lamps or 'diyas' on fragile leaves and floating them in the shimmering waters of the Ganga. As the sun sets, a specially arranged cultural feast of dances and music follows. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 04 : VARANASI/DELHI

Early morning excursion to holy river Ganges and visit by boat to the bathing and the Cremation Ghats, followed by city tour visiting the Bharat Mata temple, which houses one of the most perfect relief maps of India carved out of marble, the Durga temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University, which has an Art Gallery and the Mosque of Moghul Emperor Aurangazeb. Afternoon transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi IC 408. On arrival, meeting and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 05 : DEPART DELHI

In time transfer to the International airport to board flight for onward destination.
