Introduction
With a wide stretch of Adriatic coast, Croatia is one of the most beautiful parts of Europe. It retains the aura of medieval Croatia and the country is home to Europe's finest Roman ruins reflected in the immense palace of Diocletian in Split. The Adriatic shores are ideal for sun, reasonable living and natural beauty. Zagreb is the capital of Croatia. The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the medieval cathedral that is a must visit. The 13th century frescos, Marble altars, Renaissance pews and a baroque pulpit are other important tourist destinations in Zagreb. You can also climb the Lotrscak Tower to get a 360° view of the city or visit the Galerija Klovicevi Dvori where a lot of art shows are organized. St Mark's Church, Natural History Museum, Historical Museum of Croatia and the City Museum are the landmarks that relive the medieval era in Zagreb. The Art Pavilion, the Strossmayer Gallery, Archaeological Museum, Roman sculpture garden, Museum Mimara; Mirogoj, one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe are the tourist spots not to be missed by anybody.

The 1300 years old city Dubrovnik attracts the tourists with its marble-paved squares, steep cobbled streets, convents, churches, palaces, tall houses, fountains and museums; all made by the same light shaded stone. The traffic and congestion here are at bay with pleasant climate and lush vegetation. The Stradun is Dubrovnik's wonderful pedestrian promenade. St Blaise's Church is an Italian baroque building. The Gothic Rector's Palace, built in 1441 is now a museum with classic collection of baroque paintings and historical exhibits.

Rovinj is a beautifully inhabited archipelago of 13 green islands on the coast of Istria. Rovinj is an active fishing port dominated by the largest baroque building in Istria, the 57m (187ft) high Cathedral of St Euphemia. Rovinj Aquarium has an excellent collection of local marine species. The Punta Corrente Forest Park is a swimmer's paradise.

Diocletian's Palace in Split is more a fortress than a palace; containing the imperial residence, temples and a mausoleum within its confines. The palace is encompassed by some medieval-era buildings, including the 15th century town hall. The other tourist places in Split include Maritime Museum, Archaeological Museum and Mestrovic Gallery.

The long and rugged coast of Croatia make this place a yachting paradise. Croatia is also ideal for sea kayaking, especially around the Elafiti Islands and the Kornati Islands. The varied topography of the coast has made it a diving destination. The main attractions are shipwreck ruins and caves. Croatia is full of rock climbing and hiking opportunities, especially in Paklencia National Park and Baska on Kirk Island.
