Introduction
Hungary lures the tourists with its rich wines, wild life, bird life and the wild coast. The country is known for its pleasant spring as well as warm summer. Eager is a beautifully preserved baroque town at an hour's distance from Budapest. Egri Bikavér (Eger Bull's Blood) wine is the indigenous wine of this place. Here the point of attraction is 175 protected buildings and monuments. The landmark of the town is 13-century Eger Castle, Eger Cathedral and a Minaret with 100 narrow spiral stairs twisting high to the top. The wine cellars of the Valley of the Beautiful Women are not to be missed by anybody.

Lying equidistant from the Danube and the Dráva rivers, Pécs is a picturesque tourist city in Hungary. A mild climate, superb museums and some of the finest Turkish monuments It is also renowned for its music, opera and ballet, and has some of Hungary's best leatherwork. The 100 km lake Balaton is one of the largest in Europe. The beaches, mountain trails and wine are the major tourist attractions near the lake. Hortobágy National Park offers the best bird- watching in Europe with over 310 species including herons, egrets, spoonbills, storks, warblers and eagles. The park is also home to the great bustard, one of the world's largest birds. Máriapócs is an important pilgrimage destination having Greek Catholic church, visited by the Christian devotees.

Hungary is an ideal destination for bird-watching. The horse riding can be enjoyed in the Hortobágy region; hiking in the Mátra Hills and the Zemplén Hills near Tokaj; canoeing on the Tisza River; and caving in Aggtelek. The shores of Balaton are perfect for cycling and windsurfing.
