Ganga Government Museum is also known as the Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum. On visiting this charming museum you will be taken back to the royal days of Bikaner. It was built by Maharaja Ganga Singhji to celebrate his 50 yrs. of reign in Bikaner near the Lalgarh Palace. It was later Maharaja Karni Singhji built a larger building and shifted the museum to a much well known area in the year 1954. The inaugural function of the Ganga Government Museum was a memorable event. Dignitaries from England attended the inaugural function and it was the then Indian Viceroy, Lord Linlithgow who did the honors of inaugurating the museum.

Exploring the museum will take you to archeological proves of civilization that flourished in Bikaner in between 320 A.D. to 1200 A.D. Hunting trophies and other interesting mementoes are in display. The first floor exhibits portraits of rulers of Bikaner and important personages of British East India Company. Artifacts and articles made of wood; metal and glass are on display in the second floor of the museum. Attractive articles such as gold leaf paintings, handiworks of Utsa craftsmen and beautiful glassware articles are exhibited in the Ganga Government Museum of Bikaner.
