Shiv Bari Temple is situated at 6 kilometers from Bikaner city. The temple is located on the way to the camel town. Maharaja Doongar Singhji constructed the temple of Shiva. The temple is a splendid structure gracing miniature Rajasthani paintings. The temple is a red sandstone edifice with colossal columns, carved pavilions and splendid dome is an exemplar of Rajasthani as well as Mughal architecture.
The Shiv Bari Temple is known as the Laleshwar Mahadeo Temple. It has the famous idol of Lord Shiva. The massive idol of Shiva is made of marble and is black in color.
The entire structure is surrounded by a high stonewall. This temple was built in memory of Maharaja Doongar Singh’s father Maharaj Lall Singhji. There are two bronze Nandi bulls facing the Siva Lingam. The Shiv Bari Temple draws visitors all over the state in the month of February. Many devotees visit the temple on Mondays. In the temple premises there are two massive water reservoirs.
