Introduction to Qutab Minar
Qutab Minar is the highest stone tower in India. The tower is built by king Qutubuddin Aibak one of the famous sultan of slave dynasty. The tower is located 15 kms south of Connaught Place. The tower stands erect showing the victory of the country right from the days of history.
History of Qutab Minar
The king of slave dynasty ruler Qutubuddin Aibak had built the iron tower. The first storey of the tower was built by Qutubuddin but the rest three stories were completed by his successors. The tower was built in the victory of last Hindu king in Delhi and the mosque by the side is the example of Islamic culture and its religion. The tower signifies the victory and it still stands straight which show every victory of India.
Description of Qutab Minar
The fifth floor was completed by Feroz Shah Tughlaq. The word Qutab Minar means ‘Axis Minaret’. The sculptures and the characters that are portrait are all Islamic characters, the Arabic inscriptions gives the details of the Islamic teachings and you can have close look towards the religion.
The northern door opens to the stairways of 379 steps that will take you to the upper floors. Due to the safety of the visitors the staircase has been closed.
