Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh

Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh is a beautiful garden laid by the Raja Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur, in 1728. He built it for his Queen of Sisodia from Udaipur. Built about 8 kms from Jaipur on the way to Agra it is beautiful landscaped garden, multi tiered and fringed with watercourses and fountains. There are beds of flowers and painted pavilions depicting the legends of Radha and Krishna.

The Garden was a perfect retreat for the queen where she could enjoy the natural beauty. It is often told that the Maharaja built it for his queen who was homesick and other say it was a place of respite for her from the oppressed court life. Whatever may be the reason it is an enchanting garden that displays human farsightedness, skill and nature’s bounty. The garden is landscaped in the Mughal style and depicts the legends lord Krishna. The frescoes depict Lord Krishna in his youth and many hunting scenes.
