Situated within the walls of the Jaisalmer fort, the temples are the most attractive features of Jaisalmer tourism. There are seven temples in total, out of which three are most important and are dedicated to the Paraswanathji, Sambhavnathji and Rikhabdevji, the three Jain Trithankaras. These Jain temples belong to the Swetambhar sect of Jainism and are the most beautiful sculptures of the 12th century architecture.

The Paraswanath temple is the largest and the most beautiful of all the temples. It houses a beautiful statue of Lord Mahavira, made of green emerald and that which exudes and atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The magnificent gateway that leads to the Paraswanath Temple is spectacular. The lotus carved on the temple domes, the sculptured pillars and the inscriptions on the façade of the temple walls are works of great skill.

The Rikhabdevji temple has artistically sculptured pillars and depicts celestial maidens in different postures.
