Mahabalipuram
Mahabalipuram is one of the nearest weekend getaways from Chennai, which is located in the city of Mamalla and is named after Narasimhavarman-1, who was the Pallava ruler. It is located beside the sea and was one of the sea ports which were used during the reign of the king.
It has a number of old temples, caves and monuments which are sculptured with various themes that are depicting Hindu mythologies. There are nine monolithic temples, out of which the five temples are basically chariots or rathas which are named after five Pandav brothers of Mahabharatha, the great Indian epic. All the structures are different from one another and there are different cave temples which reflect the past.
Yeracud
If you wish to escape from the excessive hot and humid climate and relax during your weekend, you can visit Yeracud, which is located in the southern part of Shevaroy range and it means ‘forest near the lake’ and can be easily reached from Chennai or Bangalore.

Coorg
Coorg which is known as Kodagu is one of the most beautiful hill station in Karnataka district. Tirupati
